Privacy statement
How we collect, use and protect your personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect, and why we need it
Immigration advice depends on personal information. This statement explains, in plain language, what we hold and what we do with it.
Who we are
NZ Visa Immigration Services (NZVISA Immigration Services Limited) is a licensed immigration advice practice based in Tauranga, New Zealand, directed by Sakshi Vij Sekhon, Licensed Immigration Adviser (IAA licence 202001106). We work with clients in New Zealand and overseas. For anything in this statement, contact sakshi@nzvisaimmigration.co.nz or +64 27 2009 786.
What we collect
- Identity details such as your name, date of birth, nationality and passport information.
- Contact details such as your email address, phone number and where you live.
- Immigration history including previous visas, applications and any decisions from Immigration New Zealand or other authorities.
- Documents you provide to support your matter, for example qualifications, employment records, financial evidence and relationship evidence.
Why we collect it
We use your information for three purposes only: to provide you with licensed immigration advice, to prepare and lodge applications on your behalf, and to meet our record-keeping and professional obligations under the Licensed Immigration Advisers Code of Conduct. We do not use your information for anything unrelated to your matter.
Where your information goes
Your information moves only where your application requires it, and you will always know when it does.
Who we share it with
As part of your application, we share relevant information with Immigration New Zealand and other agencies involved in the process, always with your knowledge. We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
Storage and security
Your information is stored securely in the practice’s systems, and access is limited to Sakshi.
How long we keep it
We keep client files for at least seven years, as the Licensed Immigration Advisers Code of Conduct requires, then dispose of them securely.
Access, correction and complaints
The Privacy Act 2020 gives you clear rights over your own information. Here is how to use them.
Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong. To make a request, email sakshi@nzvisaimmigration.co.nz with what you would like to access or change, and we will respond within the timeframes the Act requires.
If you have a privacy concern
Please raise it with us first, and we will do our best to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz. Separately, as clients of a licensed immigration adviser, you can raise unresolved professional concerns with the Immigration Advisers Authority.
A note on this website: general information on this site is not immigration advice. Advice is only given once we have discussed your individual circumstances. Get in touch if you would like to do that.
This statement takes effect on 18 July 2026 and will be updated on this page if our practices change.
